Saturday, March 8 K-Bell Invitational at Los Gatos HS
We only had 5 athletes entered in this meet, but they all came away with vert good times. Everybody get a thumbs up from Coach A.The day started out very early (8:00AM) and cold (@45degrees) with the Frosh/Soph 3200M. Jason Yih raced to a fifth place finish as well as setting a personal best by 34 seconds. His previous best was 11:16.3 at the Frosh/Soph Top 8 Meet last year. He ran 10:52.39; missing a medal by one place.
Andrew Loc raced to a 4th place finish in the Frosh/Soph 800M with a 2:11.06, a second off of his PR. He was our only medal winner for the day. Medals went to the top 4 in each event. Points were scored by the top 6 in each event.
Stacie Boyle cruised to a PR in the 800M with a 2:25.57 besting her previous PR by 6 seconds. She won her heat, but placed 6th overall. This was only her third or fourth 800M in high school.
Weihow Hsue, our Florida transfer, ran 2:13.32 in the 800M for a PR of 7 seconds. He placed down in the pack, but he did a great job maintaining his poise throughout the race.
Andrew Loc doubled back in the Frosh/Soph 1600M with a PR of .03 with a time of 5:10.07. He placed 19th overall.
Gautam Peri ran a 5:04.00 in the Frosh/Soph 1600M with 3 second PR in his first high school race. He place 13th overall.
In our last race of the day, at 5:40PM, Brian McDonough ran 4:38.51 for an 1th place finish in the varsity race with some very stiff competition. Although he did not come close to his PR of 4:31.46 set last year at the CCS semi-finals, he ran an excellent race.
