                               2010 Summer Conditioning
The general conditioning time and days for cross country will be 7AM or 6PM Monday through Friday, and 7AM at Fremont Older
on Saturdays.  We may occasionally meet at other venues for the Saturday morning runs.  We will begin on Monday, June 14th.
This basic schedule will be in effect through August 12th.
The schedule for the week will be posted on the web site on Sundays.  TinoRunners.org
Conditioning will consist of road runs, track workouts, exercises and weight training.
The minimum goal for the summer is 20 miles per week or 200 miles total.  You may range up to 50 miles per week as long as your
body can handle it.  We will start at 20 and ramp up.  If you have not been working out, you must increase your mileage gradually.  If you
have been running regularly, you may be more aggressive.  You do not have to workout with me, but you need to workout consistently
in order to be prepared for the season.
On August 9th, your physical paperwork is due to me.  I will not allow you to start official practice on the same day that you show up
with the paperwork.  The paperwork means all of the forms including the Athletic Fee.  All of the forms are on the school's web site and will
also be on mine.  Schedule your physicals now.  Do not wait until the last minute.  I have a list of people who will do a sports
physical for a fee if you need it.  You also must have medical insurance.
The tryout period begins on August 13th and ends on August 27th.  Anyone who wants to tryout after that period will have to run two time
trials.  The standard will be: boys 1 mile <6:00 and 2 miles <13:00,  girls 1 mile <7:00 and 2 miles <15:00. If you miss a majority of the
tryout period, you may be subject to the time trial standard.
I will expect you to be at a good level of fitness by August 13th without injury.
We will be doing mandatory double workouts from August 16th through August 20th, 7:00AM and 6:00PM.
There may be conditioning for track and field at 6PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and maybe Sundays at a time to be announced.
Event specific training may be given, but this will depend on the level of interest.
